I love the idea of cleaning with less chemicals…And as Chief Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Window Washer, and Countertop Wiper (AKA: Mom)–I get exposed to a lot of them! So, I’ve been searching and experimenting with different natural cleaning brands for a while now. But nothing has really stood out to me–plus they tend to get a little pricey at the store. (And of course, I’m always missing at least one or two ingredients when I look up a DIY recipe!) Basically I want something that is safe, simple, effective–and won’t break the bank! Sweet Friends…I’ve found it! My new BFF–Tohi Hard Surface Cleaner Concentrate! Finally I’m cleaning with essential oils — in a simple way that doesn’t require me to add anything but water! (I can handle that!)
All Natural
So obviously, one of my primary goals is to find a safe and natural cleaner. The Tohi Cleaner ingredients are 100% plant derived and natural–LOVE! In addition, it contains 100% pure essential oils, including: cinnamon, clove, lemon, orange, oregano, thyme, mandarin, rosemary, nutmeg, ginger, and eucalyptus. The smell is amazing! Really fresh, but not overwhelming. The cinnamon and clove scents–with a touch of citrus, stand out to me. (So much better than the heavy smells of my harsh cleaners!)
Multi-Purpose
I’m all about simplifying–especially when it comes to cleaning supplies. But–I’m also a bit picky, and when a product claims to be “multi-purpose,” I’m a little skeptical! So I decided to whip up 2 spray bottles of cleaner and put Tohi to the test while tackling my weekly chores!
The directions on the Tohi Cleaner are super simple and straight forward:
Multi-Purpose Cleaner–Mix 2 Tablespoons of concentrate per 24 oz of water.
Bathroom Surfaces–Mix 3 Tablespoons of concentrate per 24 oz of water.
I gave the spray bottles a little swirl to make sure they were well mixed and set off to clean my kitchen and bathrooms!
Amazing Results
Wow! My granite counters were shining and clean–no streaks, no residue! That alone had me sold! Then I sprayed away on my stove top–and it worked! Clean, no streaks, no sticky left-over film…amazing! And it cleaned up some sticky yuck on my tile floor–without leaving any residue (and without me worried about my dog trying to lick up dangerous chemicals)!
I hit the bathrooms–and got the same fantastic results! Clean with a fresh smell (almost made me like cleaning the bathroom…)–no streaks, no residue!
Sadly, this all made me a bit giddy–and I don’t know what that says about me. But when you’re a mom and you’re 40 years old–excitement and joy come from some very interesting places! It’s the little things, am I right?! (Also–the Tohi hand soap is lovely!)
Not Just Me
I decided to check out the Rocky Mountain Oils website and see what other users thought about Tohi…Was I the only one in love with my new cleaner? Nope. Everyone is loving it–and they inspired me to try it out on a few other spots. Like my mirrors and windows. Now, I was already a fangirl of Tohi Cleaner–but I didn’t think it could top my glass cleaner (I’m a bit of a glass cleaner snob, and I thought nothing could beat my Sprayway Glass Cleaner). So–mind blown, when it cleaned my windows and mirrors just as good as my old standby! (It felt so good not spraying that aerosol all over my windows and mirrors–no holding my breath and trying to avoid the plume!)
I don’t have wood floors (if you have them–I’m jealous), but several people shared their success using the cleaner on wood floors and other wood surfaces. I haven’t tried that yet–but plan to test it out on our kitchen table ASAP!
The one place I did use it and got less than perfect results–my stainless steel appliances. Those things can be such buggers to clean! Tohi did leave some streaks on them–nothing horrible, but if this is something you get neurotic about–your traditional stainless steel cleaner may be the best choice. (I personally find Weiman Stainless Steel Wipes to be the best thing for cleaning stainless steel–but they are horribly chemically!!)
Overall–I am singing from the roof-tops about this cleaner…love, love it!
Great Value
And of course, we can’t forget about price! The Tohi Hard Surface Cleaning Concentrate is a GREAT value!!
The bottle is 16 oz/ 473 ml…I did the calculations. To make a bottle of bathroom cleaner (45 ml of concentrate) and bottle of multi-purpose cleaner (30 ml of concentrate), I used 75 ml of concentrate total. At the very least, I can make a little over 10 bottles of cleaner out of one bottle of concentrate! The concentrate costs $15.99 (and shipping on all US orders is always free)! It would be difficult to buy 10 (24 oz) bottles of all-natural cleaner for that price!
Rocky Mountain Oils
You can only find Tohi online at Rocky Mountain Oils…which I just recently discovered this year! And I am loving this company!
I’ve dabbled in essential oils, but I didn’t want to join a multi-level marketing company (Rocky Mountain Oils is not a multi-level marketing company)–so I’ve always made my purchases at our local health food store. I just want to buy oils and buy them for the same price as everyone else. And I also want them to be high quality and have some education and support available. I didn’t realize I could find all that online! Enter, Rocky Mountain Oils! You just buy what you want–there is no joining! I think you’ll love them and their products…Free Shipping and 100% Satisfaction Guarantee!
With Love (and Shiny Countertops),
